I hope this works. I think I'm replying to either one person or all respondents.
Thank you to all for the warm welcome. I really appreciate it. And I very much like the content on this site.
I am 72, and have pared my watches down to only a few: the Aquanaut, a white gold sub aka Smurf, a Cartier Pasha 41mm, and a Seagull1963 mechanical chrono (I wanted to find the cheapest mechanical chrono on the planet). I just ordered a Corniche quartz hybrid (whatever that is) chrono in ALL ORANGE. It looks cool and if I don't like it the wife will wear it). My wife currently has a Rolex TT YM, an Hermes Cape Cod, and a Reverso Tribute Duo Moonface.
My cat knocked my Rolex off my dresser and while the movement was fine, the clasp bent. So it is at Rolex. And I agreed to a light polish (even the scratches had scratches). I mean, I figured that I'm old and will never sell it, so one light polish won't kill me. Or the watch.
As to bracelets, they are next to my watches for photos only, which I have told my Instagram followers. It is not just the scratches, but the jingle jangle (apologies to Bob Dylan) noise that drives me nuts. I actually wear them on the opposing wrist.
FYI, my watches (and the wife's) were frequently posted on my locutus49 Insta, with pocket knives, but this account is frozen due to identity issues. So I started and am slowly populating my new account: gatorloki49. Here it is if you want to check it out. If this is not legal, tell me and I'll delete: https://www.instagram.com/gatorloki49/?hl=en
I apologize for the lengthy missive, but I wanted to answer some of your questions.
