Too big? Would you consider a Grand Seiko ? Gmt hi- beat. 40mm, but does not look as big as the batman. Different kind of watch, but could

be 'in between' the Rolex and PP.

Totally different watches (obviously) but ...

... both are fantastic choices. Get the one that sings to you -- period. While I would probably go for the Rolex because of my casual lifestyle, along with its versatility and sturdiness, the Calatrava is the ultimate dress watch. My favorite Patek is eit...
Funny enough

They very first time I saw the calatrava with this bezel I hated it. But surprisingly I really love it now. My other issue is probably the size of the Rolex on my wrist? Kev
haha nice

I am actually hesitating between that one and the root beer one (but never had the chance to see it in real yet) if I go for the sport one... Kev
TBH i don t like any supercased Rolex

zero.A nice 5digit GMT d be totally different story but in this case rather a nice dresss patek than the batman.
Rolex now and maybe Patek later
By: 1WatchMan : November 4th, 2018-11:31
You can either add the Patek later or replace the Rolex if you find that it wasn't the right choice. This is my advice without any context info. Two totally different watches, but you already know it 😉
No contest

Sadly for me. The Rolex all day long !! Have fun choosing.
Batman [nt]

I owned a 5120J
By: TS1987 : November 4th, 2018-11:50
Fell out of love with it within four weeks. Wasn't worth the expense or the grief it gave.
May we ask

What such grief entailed? Thx.

Batman is great looking & not easy to get too. Go for it. PP - I’m sure you can find again in future even less than retail but not the batman. Best, mahesh.,

I would say Patek but not the Calatrava for now. It’s easy to get if you want one later. It’s the Rolex GMT2 BLNR for now. Good luck!
I can’t give you any advice
By: RussW : November 4th, 2018-14:54
But I would buy the Rolex. I prefer sportier watches so it would suit me better. For a simple Calatrava I like the 5196 more.
As a Rolex and patek owner...
By: Wristenthusiast : November 4th, 2018-15:16
I would go Rolex if I could only have one. It's an appropriate watch pretty much anywhere. My patek dress watches are beautiful pieces of art, but I can't wear them when working on equipment or banging around or near water. Rolex watches wear scratches we...
The Rolex.

I find the Patek far too classic (even old fashioned) in design/style.
Thanks for the advise

I am not a big fan yet of gd seiko. For the moment I am trying to stay within omega, Rolex, Patek, AP or jlc Kev
Neither.

Keep looking until you find the one you will fall in love with. Then you will not be asking for advice. Of course if you are looking for investment advice, that is a different story. Good luck with your search. Cheers Jim
Personally I will go for the batman Rolex gmt.

I am more of a casual guy. In my get up. And it's warm here in the tropics. Regarding the 5120g, I would go more with the 5196r or J. As a dress watch. Because it has a seconds hand and minute markers. My opinion. Geross 😉
