Much appreciated. I'm engrossed by the enigmatic Brazilian story of these watches.

A lot of the narrative - such as it exists - is Patek-centric. Far less known beyond a few tidbits is the life and times of these watches in Brazil during the first three decades of the last century. I've been digging, but part of the effort has been to g...

Thank you. I genuinely appreciate the encouragement.

It can be a rather solitary venture, and the pickings are relatively thin. The Patek Philippe library will be resourceful, but I've found delving into the national archives of Brazil, contemporary lifestyle magazines, the work of artists and photographers...

SUPERB!!!

There are many watches I love but think of them more as something that deserves this type of treatment vs. something I actually would consider wearing based on my size/personality/etc. Before today I've never seen someone actually do it. Your photos are b...

That's really kind of you to say. If we can all treat these watches with the TLC they deserve, we'll be better off for it, and so will generations to come.

It's one thing the brands managing heritage in their own ways, but watches like this have a lived heritage that belongs to us. As an owner, I feel duty-bound to give mine the respect it deserves.

Gorgeous watch, gorgeous work!

That's very generous of you. Thank you.

I'm happy with how it came out.

Wow!

This is pure respect for old traditions, especially when you made a frame for this pocket watch. Could you show us the mechanism of the piece?

Hi there. Yes. Respect. So important.

As requested, here are some photos of the movement that the merchant took before I took it off his hands last June. For more information on the movement, here's Dan Henry's : www.timeline.watch ...

Wow, it has a Power Reserve indicator too

Or what I think is one on the back. Such a fine condition this piece is in, after a hundred years.

Beautiful presentation and 22k case is a surprise!

Superb display and your watch is looking perfect after a visit to the spa. Can you still get your hands on it for a fondle once in a while? I recall your post on WUS but wasn't aware of the 22k case, which must be very rare indeed. Can you share a picture...

Good grief I said 22K. What a faux-pas. It's 18K of course. Thanks for highlighting this....

Let me go back and try to make the correction. Thanks again.

I was hoping for a pleasant surprise

22k cases are not unknown, usually of an earlier period and smaller watches. Would be too soft for a large watch worn regularly. Regardless, its a wonderful timepiece

Thank you.

You are right. I’ve read about a few of the kind you describe. I’m not about to accumulate however. Having established this single toehold, my intention is to build out a narrative. There’s a recent article about the relationship between G

Tell us more. Did you make this yourself? Did you commission this? I'm totally bookmarking this for the future!

Thank you, Sir. No, I don't have the craftmanship to take on a task of this nature, but...

... I do enjoy curation and composition, and like many of us I make use of wall space at home as a canvass for artwork, prints and sculpture. In this particular instance, I began with the mind to provide this watch with a fixture of its own that would out...

In the next months I will try to get my Solvil Paul Ditisheim from my safe in Rome, get it serviced and... Who knows, either keep it or "transform" it into a new watch for my eldest daughter.

Fantastic
