This piece has its own charm as evident from much of the buzz you mentioned and from what I've read thus far.
Having not seen it in the metal but only from photos, it would be way way down my bucket list...
But as the saying goes, "never say never" you wouldn't know if the heart grows fonder after setting your eyes on the actual piece.
I would get it.
