I'd go for the chronograph because I love its simplicity and modern/retro mix. I spoke to an AD a couple of days ago and they might be getting one in soon. She will try to give me a heads-up so I can see it in person. Never understood the appeal of a Tiff...
My new AD has one I could acquire (it was ordered for a client who decided not to buy). I saw it live in May 2019 but I actually cannot remember how it looked like on the wrist. It’s an interesting piece and I definitely prefer it over 5170 (except P whic...
I wonder if that was me?!? Lol. I had requested it when it was announced last year but passed on it when it arrived. I agree that I don’t think it will be a hard to get piece. May be limited in how many are out there but I was concerned about the value. ...
I went a month ago to the Patek salon at Tiffany in NYC, and they didn’t have one in stock. I’d like to see the watch in person. I don’t think I like the syringe hands on this watch, but perhaps in person it all works. I suppose they are going for a vinta...
I wonder what new color(s) they might offer in the future to keep it fresh. Or new metals. Would be more interesting to me in yellow gold with a cream dial.
But, about blue dials, we may see them rise or fall a bit, but given that the Royal Oak and Nautilus are 40+ years old, I think blue dials have established a permanent place.
I’m leaning towards passing for the time being. I don’t think I would keep this watch forever and am worried I’ll lose quite a bit if I try to sell/trade down the road. Thanks.
a Tiffany stamp may provide better retention especially given that Patek may decide to drop Tiffany because it is now controlled by LMVH, a competitor of sort
Im pretty confident in saying that the design is not gonna go out of fashion, particularly that blue is quite different to most blue dialed watches that feel like a trend that could change again... But i guess you already made your decision...! Dont forge...
and there is a lot to love about the watch, I would pass. I think the hit on it, if you part ways with it, would be substantial as this segment of the watch market continues to struggle.
