This is a very personal decision...
I think most people here will say go for the 5712. If you do like chronos, I would go for the 5980.
However, the 5711 is still a fantastic watch. It is the original. Less is more.

within weeks I headed for the 5980. Both are high and fine quality sport watches. My wrist and eyes find the bigger 5980 to wear and feel harmoniously on my wrist and I love the 5980 look and colors. I think you ought to try both before making your choice...
