I went to have a look to the 5153G Black dial maybe 3 years ago and found it very romantic.
The thing is that I love the case of the 5227 so much (in my top 3 favorite Patek case from the 3 last decades, which I reviewed here: www.watchprosite.com
) and the way the dial is decorated that The 5227G will remain my clear favorite compared to the 5153G.
Again different styles so I guess it may be easy for someone to find out which is the one he wants (as long as he can hold both of course as these dials are very difficult to see the beauty from on pics).
This being said a difference I noticed is how the dial looks. In the 5227G it is very dark black with its beautiful lacquer (thus glossy etc...). The impression the 5153G left me was less deep as the glass didn't seem to be as anti-reflexion coated (?) as the 5227G seems to be. This is an important element I would take into account and would need to confirm today again if considering purchasing one.
However, 2 very distinct offers and two very appealing watches in their own way.
Cheers, Mark
