When considering watches, I must say I have different dial color choices considering the case style.
However, for 2 or 3 hands watches I must say I like the idea of having it dressy thus rose gold (or eventually yellow for vintage).
But this one is even dressier (less easy to match with any kind of clothing though).

Black dial really have something special
even if not easy to combine with many straps colors for people who like that. With rose gold or white metal, it definitely brings something very original to the watch. I must say I didn't focus on legibility as it is not a problem for me but I should have...

I like the rose gold Calatravas

Hmmm, I'm not sure but don't think the 5153G's dial is shiny as a lacquered one
it is satin-like but not as glossy as the 5227's. Furthermore, the fact the 5153G has a guilloché pattern in the center limits this effect as well. This being said, they are indeed very similar regarding the kind of event it will accompany you to. Cheers,...
They are very different in style
I went to have a look to the 5153G Black dial maybe 3 years ago and found it very romantic. The thing is that I love the case of the 5227 so much (in my top 3 favorite Patek case from the 3 last decades, which I reviewed here: www.watchprosite.com...

Great watch for all occaisons
in my view. It would look great with jeans on weekends. The black dial lets it fly under the radar which is also very nice.
