I personally left discussions about prices paid for exquisite time pieces far behind my, a long time ago.
Yes, it is an irrational thing to pay such hefty prices, but with any else luxury item ( and many cars that we consider as standards are actually luxury, too ) it feeds the need for exclusivity, easthetics and an irrational component, that is also a part of human nature.
So, no need to justify any watch dream that you have and will enable!
I personally have not reached the "level" of pasion that drives me into sacrifice.

I can tell you why someone would spend so much on a car
because it brings a huge smile to their face every time they drive it. I know lots of people that buy exactly what they like and never think twice about it value when it comes to watches. I just do the same thing with my car which are toys to me
