That's an exciting project
FYI, I made a review of the 5940G black dial here if this can help: www.watchprosite.com
The Patek is a beautiful cushion-shaped and very thin Patek. Most refined, elegant and original compared to the round references. Whether you choose the black or the silver dial version, they look fantastic.
However, I don't know the FP Journe so I can't talk about the technical aspects.
I won't talk about the look which is a very subjective matter (though I quite like it) and like the way the FPJ movements are decorated and designed. I understand your appeal for this one. A concern you might want to check on the net is if there are reliability issues.
You'll have to consider what it represents and makes you feel wearing them on the long run. This is a very personal issue.
I wish I could help more
Cheers, Mark
I feel that 3940 and 5140 are

basically same watches. The newer version is 1.2 mm bigger and have (in my opinion) a worse and much messier dial. Naturally J and G are different watches. If you have several PP AC, why don't you try something different (if you do not own one yet). World...

I agree with you that there is minimal difference between 3940 vs 5140. And I actually prefer the dial of the 3940. However I\'m considering the 5940. While its the same movement as the 3940 I think the cushion shape and breguet numbers may be enough of a...
FPJ would be my choice here
By: Poky : May 20th, 2016-13:04
I find date and month windows much more appealing and useful. FPJ is a great watch my only concern is what will happen in 10 - 15 years from now; will there be a good back up service? Will the prices hold? You know what you are getting with PP in terms of...

My AD gave me a really good deal on both. I got the 5940 now and the Journe , in rose gold, will take about 5-6months. I did trade in my 5140 which I just wasn\'t wearing much. I\'m pretty happy with the outcome. ...
That's stunning!

The elegance and smoothness of this case makes it very exceptional. The dial is perfectly suiting to it as well. Congratulations for your choice thanks for these pictures and please do not heistate to open a new thread for pictures in the weeks to come fo...
