Hi and g'day everyone... I own a 5980-1R for than a month now and I am doing a short personal review (strictly IMHO) for those who are interested in getting one, I hope you will find my review helpful and eventually "pull the trigger"! So here we go... PR...

... thanks for sharing your impressions. About the bezel being a scratch magnet, i find the polished links of the bracelet being so easy to scratch. But with time, hopefully a soft patina, it should be ok and give it some caracter.

Fricks, You are most welcomed and thank you for taking your time to respond.. Re the scratch magnet... The scratches on the polished bits on the bracelet is not that obvious in day to day unless you put it under the proper lighting and taking a close look... 

... i fully agree with you. Finding excuses, scars are the signs of a life full of rich experiences, they give caracter, etc... still the scratches on that wide bezel that is perfectly brushed are like eye magnets. Again, we usually get used to it with ti...

Congrats on the 1R! the clasp it will loosen up over time, but it is not the easiest clasp to open bracelet one big downside tho, especialy for the $$$ a PP costs, no 'winter'/'summer' setting possibility like the Rolex Easylink / Glidelock. How is it pos...  

Arie... Thank you very much for highlighting the lack of "easylink" design by Rolex... I totally agree with your comment that it would be so much more convenient... Now that the PP Nautilus no longer comes with screws for the bracelet adjustment, it is ev...  

Don't think it is reasonable at all, Patek is asking almost 30K more for the bracelet version compare to 5980R, that's one damn expensive bracelet.

Tom.. GONG XI FA CHA Thank you for taking your time to reply my post. I personally don't think the extra 30k PP charged for the 18kpg bracelet is too much.. How do I justify it... I own RM16, RM11 and most recently I bought a RM33.. So I am using the exam...
