Patek Philippe

THAT... leaves me feeling distrustful

I bought a watch at each of the last two Antiquorum auctions..  The first was a stainless Daytona which primped well for the photo but needed much more work than their grading intimated, the second was a vintage Patek delivered 'not working' and with a Bulova strap and clasp (neither element disclosed).

I wonder if the full disclosure of dial change on lot #195 has anything to do with who owns the watch offered?..   I will be most curious to learn if either lot 195 or Lot 120 (the Patek 5004) is owned by the auctioneer or his related affiliates and will make my decision to bid at Antiquorum again based on what I learn.

It would be heartbreaking if the auctioneers, their affiliates or related parties offerred their own inventory and presented it in a way that intentionally or unintentionally mislead purchasers, while others disclosed more fully (or vice versa)

As a matter of full disclosure, I was previously planning to bid on this 5004 thinking it was an original factory black-dial.  I did not notice the cert in the back-ground and as a novice would not have known that 'argent' meant another color. I indeed feel mislead and will now not bid at this auction.

What a shame for the auctioneer to ruin a good thing by not more fully disclosing information such as in the examples above. Trust is the most difficult thing to gain in this business and the easiest to loose.
