... been reading it all, considering the various arguments and making up my mind. It is going to be the 5970R. The 3970 is a beauty, but I prefer the slightly larger case of the 5970 and on top of that I am actually appealed by the idea of buying a brand new watch directly from AD, knowing that I am first one to have touched it and am able to register in my name with Patek.
Only complication: I thought the 5970R would still be available but it no longer is apparently (that is, direct from the AD). Only the platinum version is available and I think the 5970R is just a bit ' warmer'.
Good news though, as I read in another post by Darma that there will be a replacement for the 5970. I assume that this one will have an in-house movement as the Nouvelle Lemania can no longer be used?
So I will place my order for the 5970R replacement

how ever it is a very personal choice. If you decide to go for the 3970 I think you would actually find yourself saving money not adding it.
