If you took a poll so far, I guess the 5970 is the choice
of most folks. However, my choice is the 3970. I have smaller wrists and the 3970 just looks and feels better. I see where others have said the size of the 5970 allows for the dial to be less cluttered but, to my eye, the dial on the 3970 appears to be a cleaner look.

how ever it is a very personal choice. If you decide to go for the 3970 I think you would actually find yourself saving money not adding it.
