Friends, as promised in a previous post, please find attached a short review and a few photos of my 5236P. Positives: I think that the 5236 is the perfect combination of understatement and complication. The dial, with the inline calendar, is very simple, ...  

...I too am kind of bothered by the fact that Patek couldn't (wouldn't?) figure out instant indicator change. It looks from the photo that the date is the same color as the day and month...true? If so, it would have been nice to make the date a different ... 

I personally prefer it to adding a new color to the dial.

I’m glad to see this piece is being so well received by connoisseurs and lovers of fine horology — perpetual calendars are not most popular models these days, so it’s great Patek has been able to offer something new in this area, which is both technically...

I, too, agree with your conclusions of this piece. It’s an almost perfect watch. I wish it had instant change and hacking seconds. I don’t think the lack of these features would keep me from getting this watch if I had a chance though. It’s a beauty. Wear...

The complexity of the watch is known only to its owner and its watchmaker. And to us as well. May you enjoy it for many February 29s to come.

A great write up on your new piece. Overall I love it too, the proportions, layout etc. For me there would be one small aspect I would change which would be to have the date in the same colour as the dial with white writing per the PP logo. The white ‘sta... 

In the metal, it is very discreet and balanced with the leap year and day night (during the day) indicators.

For me this is the most interesting and collectable PC from Patek in the past more than a decade. Very understated yet highly attractive watch. When we prefer a thin Patek movement to a bulky Lange movement, we have to be ready to accept that not all func... 

I agree with the first part of your comments. But to be fair to Lange, their new QP is only 1mm thicker than the 5236, with a full size rotor, quite impressive as well. Also, the Lange mouvement is, i think, slightly less elegant but on par when it comes ... 

If we are comparing the size of two watches, Patek at 11.07mm and Lange 1 PC (2021 version) at 12.1mm. However, movement wise, Patek is only at 5.8mm, while Lange is at 8.8mm, so is Lange more than 50% thicker than Patek. Of course maybe its mostly due to... 

Date change...its just a bit lazy of PP when other brands do it on cheaper watches.
