This ref. 1585 is delightful, especially in this rose on rose configuration. I could find some more photos of it, as well as of a black dial variant.
I might do a separate post on these surprising references with unusual lugs and cases (like ref. 539, 540, or 1540 and so many others, in fact, because, as you say, creativity was almost endless during the 40s & 50s).

With Arabic numerals, I would personally pick the first 1578 on the list. And I would choose the 1579 with Roman numerals (the one from Romain Réa looks quite good)!
