I wrote this to Amanico: The purple World Time wasn't purplish enough for me. I would've liked to have seen it with more color. When I made this comment, one lady joked that men are more color blind than women - but then a second lady remarked it was a black watch with purple stitching - thus disproving the first lady's theory. Personally, I would've liked to see a slightly brighter purple as this was a little too dark - almost black. The date mechanism does go backwards and forward and is a triumph in terms of technical and mechanical design. The technical director is rightfully quite proud to have this and he showed me how it worked - I was impressed with how it worked mechanically. However - having the dates written out all on the outer bezel like that is not always a beautiful look and does make the watch look somewhat crowded. The first time I saw the watch it looked okay. The second time it looked crowded. The third time it looked crowded but okay, since there were so many city names as well. I guess my thoughts will evolve on this. Some of our members will recall I actually like the Patek Philippe 6000G watch which has a similar date, so I'm probably less critical than most regarding this date layout.

Thank you so much for this, living in Stockholm doesn’t provide opportunities to see exhibits like this. Will travel to one one day I hope!
A noble goal of these exhibits is to bring Patek Philippe (and, by extension, high horology) to various regions of the world, where local people with no access to the Museum or Manufacture can live a nearly comparable experience in their own countries!
Given the ever-increasing success of these events, Patek Philippe will continue to offer them periodically, and I'm sure one day they will reach beautiful Sweden as well! Cheers.

+1, while Patek is obviously aware of the responsibilities that come with being at the top of its field, I'm glad that it takes these responsibilities extremely seriously...to an extent that probably only an independent, family-run company can do! ;-)

That'd be a good idea! Since I've never been Stockholm! It'd be a good excuse to visit Stockholm! I'm sure Patek Philippe targets safer cities and cities with tremendous interest in their product. Stockholm might be a good candidate!

I thought it was fantastic! I liked the Rare Handcraft pieces even more than the ones I saw at New York 2017. I guess the Japanese themed Rare Handcrafts resonates with me more than the American theme.

Some super knowledgeable people say it just needs to have a minute repeater, chronograph, and perpetual calendar. Some say it has to have a split seconds. Some say it needs to have more. I'd say there's no universal consensus. But YES! Patek Philippe does...

I didn't attend the one in Singapore. But I did go to the previous one in New York. So between New York and Tokyo, I'd say I liked the exhibition and the Rare Handcrafts at Tokyo more. I did like the simple Calatrava they made for the New York show a lot ...

While for other Rare Handcrafts there's a broader array of excellent artists, there's simply nobody like JB in his field today....This is why Patek's wood marquetry production is so rare, and he is the only artisan authorized to create these dials! ;-)
In real life they are just fantastic artworks, and under a loupe, you can easily see the slivers of wood that compose a dial, which is a very fascinating experience. I'm attaching below a closeup I took of my 5089G dial, though it will never fully convey ...

I am debating the 6007 vs the 5212 (which is one of my favourites but I struggle to read - the reason why I have dragged my heels so far)!
The 5212 is another really interesting and original "new generation" Calatrava in my view, which is clearly receiving lots of love from collectors! Congrats with either one you choose, as these are highly nontrivial Patek allocations! :-)
