Patek Philippe

I guess I was inspired to post this Thread by the timeless beauty I find displayed by some vintage vintage cars....like the 356 Porsche....and some vintage watches...like the Patek Ref 1491?

I think it proves a point.....
If one can create a product with true consistency to its purpose, with no superfluous decoration and to the utmost standards of the technology of the epoch......and then imbue that product with the highest standards of construction, craftsmanship and reliability......a 'Classic' may be created?

Of course it helps if spare parts and service are consistently available....and in that regard....again there are similarities between Porsche and Patek Philippe?
