As noted it is likely my favorite timepiece from the collection. It is just so perfect (too me). I have been toying with getting a modern PP PC, but then I have to ask myself why? See what if any interesting things comes out of W&W.

Likely my favorite in the collection

Just a few pictures of my PP Ref 3940. While I have timepieces that have cost or are worth more, this is my favorite. It's dimensions are perfect for my feeble wrist. The dial and functions are timeless. It is classic Patek through and through. The added ...

Beautiful, one of the last great Pateks ever made.

Every time I see a just-right yellow gold 3940 like this, I think I should get one of those, sell off my collection, and just wear that every day.

Agreed

This is on I always look at and admire and I'm usually a time only sports watch guy. The size is perfect for my small wrist but I would like to view one 'in the flesh' to see if I could even see those subdials before committing.

I had the same concern initially about the subdials

However, you get a pretty clear idea of all the elements just by looking at their position. So it's not exactly like the eye test where the dr. makes you read the smallest line. You'll be able to tell. And with that said, this is a magnificent piece!

Beautiful watch.

I'm not sure that there will be something great out of W&W in the perpetual calendar class...

The last Quantieme Perpetual they launched was the "in-one-line" version and while that was a easy to read watch, it was a little thick for a Patek Philippe perpetual calendar watch. The elegance of the 3940 lies within its plate-ness (thinness).

"Classic" is the word.
