Surprised Bonhams did not use social media more

 

I saw it last month when reviewing the catalogue and I know it was on the cover. But I was surprised Bonhams did not extensively market the piece on social media and through the watch blogs. Maybe they did and I missed it? I know that Bonhams is generally very low key and they don’t have the flashy partnership with big watch bloggers like Bacs & Russo and Christie’s do. That is why I like to check-in with Bonhams every season.
Anyway, these one-off customized modern PP watches are basically going back to Patek historical roots when preferred clients had the privilege, is it not? When Patek scaled up production in the mid 90’s-2000’s, I’m sure converting new markets was more important than custom work. Are modern custom pieces super rare? Auction season always bring one or two.

I am not sure about how often they accommodate client requests but nevertheless I really like the overall composition of this piece. And the fact it is piece unique.... Perhaps it is a slightly less bling version on the 5961P but somehow this version spea...

this casually sporty annual calendar chronograph dial configuration that Patek devised works perfectly. And it’s too complicated to be copied by other brands. I only wish I had the budget for it. (and even though my alter ego somewhere else likes to joke ...

Already love the new 5960/1A-010 (black dial) when I saw it at the NY Exhibition. And do you remember Padj’s white dial Tiffany one? That one is super cool. And then of course keks has the Leicester FC one which is super cool too.

It clearly shows once more that auction houses don't care much about their selling prices but only for their commission. This piece should have had much more publicity IMHO. If I would have known I would have bid much much more for this stunning piece.

It would be interesting to know what the retail of this piece was I bet very similar to the selling price at bonhams Julian
