Sure...NOT! :-)

You should observe better the dials of the watches to realise how different they are and how better made is that of the vintage model ref. 570 (look at the position of the sub seconds dial in relative to the border of the dial, for instance, which says a lot about the proportions between the two different movements and the cases housing them).
Then, if we open the case back and give a look at inside the case, we'll discover a huge difference between the two watches. Where in the ref. 570 there is a stunning gorgeous and beautifully refinished 12-120, in the 5196 there is a poor cheap bread and butter JLC818 (aka PP215).
I don't even post the pictures of the back of the two watches just for mercy smile
No, unfortunately the watches Patek was used to don't exist anymore neither they still do it. And in the case of this stunning ref. 570, a true Graal for any vintage Patek serious collector, perhaps one of the best conceived and less conventional Calatrava ever made, even less.

Regards

Does Patek still make Calatravas like this?

My favourite Patek dial has always been the three-colour breguet numerals Calatrava dial. I was under the impression they hadn't been made in ~60 years, but I have very little knowledge of Patek to know better. I saw one today as I was passing by a jewele...

Hard to believe that the most prestigous watch maker in the world would re-develop such a spectacular dial and frame it in Platinum to cheat their distinguished buyers with a half-ass movement. The movement is that size to set the impecable sub-dial preci...

5196 sub dial

The relatively larger sub-dial, as seen on the earlier version is more classic. But there is something appealing about the way the sub-dial on the modern version does not interfere with the numbers. Looks more discrete. fnk

because the PC215 is so small relative to the case. This is the reason this reference comes with a solid back. With the back off you really see that size does matter in this instance. A pitifully small movement for the case. There are so many watches out ...

I Love it.......the hands seem to just flow over the dial
