Strap choices
Your analogy is quite appropriate. The frame often makes the painting. In the case of Flemish old masters, the use of tortoiseshell frames really makes dark shiny paintings POP.
This is why I am leaning towards going with a thin (no stitching) crocodile band with round scales to complement the proportions of the case, in a cognac color (does Patek make this?). Black would be stunning but too formal for every day use. The other option is blue shagreen from ABP.
Interestingly, the more I look at the watch, the more I think this horizontal case, had some sub-conscious influence on the Nautilus design, which appears to be a more defined version of this rounded octagonal shape...

Geross, These cufflinks are on my wishlist... I have seen a few different versions offered online...Yours seem to be the newer model which is fabulous. Patek blue sunburst dials are magical and hypnotic. The keychain though....this seems like a cruel joke...
