I have always been partial to smaller watches due to my small wrist and was thrilled when I set my eyes on the 7200R-010 which was produced in 80 pieces for the London Exhibition last year. Fortunately, my AD ensured that I received an allocation and my f...
... there was discussion a couple of years ago with PuristS that also wear this reference. If I remember correctly one person bought it for the wife but wears it on his wrist instead of her. I like yours and I like the one with gold numerals as well, the ...
Yes, Gordon Lau's wife wears it and he does too at times I believe. It is a good size for some of us especially the smaller wristed Asians and where I appreciate the raised gold Breguet numerals of the normal production 7200R, I feel the black Breguet num...
for the compliment. It is pretty discreet, understated and elegant which are probably its best features in my opinion. The fact that it is quite rare is an added bonus
This combination and this model fits very nice on a man's wrist: yours. Thanks for sharing more photos. In the same spirit, but with 33mm diameter, 5026 models including the 5026P could maybe also meet your criteria. Best, Patrickh
Yes the 5026 models are lovely and I have tried them but I think the thinner bezel of the 7200 makes a difference to the appearance of the watch. It completes it!
For the exhibition, Patek also produced the 5153G with raised Breguet numerals and hands (Sam Wan just posted his on the site a few weeks ago) and although it was a man's size 38mm, I felt the 'ladies' size 34.6mm 7200R was a better fit on my wrist. In ad...
when a watch is well proportioned on a wrist, such as in your case. Size is relative and trying on a watch is the best gauge of suitability rather than just looking at the numbers. cheers fernando
Sometimes a larger watch would be fine if the lugs or case are curved. I cannot wear a 38mm Breguet due to its straight lugs but a 41mm Patek can hug the wrist better with its curved lugs. I have bought one watch without trying it and learned my lesson. T...
You must have had a choice to buy it when you visited London recently but opted for the larger 5153G which suits your wrist well. Did you try the 7200R while in London?
I always thought you were a lucky man Sam with your amazing watch collection. Now I think you are even luckier that your wife does not understand horology . I must find one of those!
The watch was not publicised much as it was issued as part of the London exhibition and enthusiasts seemed a lot more interested in the re edition vintage pieces which were produced in smaller quantities. I however prefer the simpler watch, not only becau...
wearing this special piece ! For smaller wrists, the 7200 (regular or limited edition) is truly unisex with the right strap. The dials of both versions are elegant and understated, exactly what a Patek Calatrava should be! Cheers, Gordon
But I seriously doubt that my 7200R will be sufficient bait for any female PuristS! Perhaps if I owned the 7000R minute repeater, it might be a little more tempting
I am quite useless with computers and for three years I have been trying to post a photo on this forum so my post is somewhat of a minor miracle and personal success!
This Calatrava in my opinion epitomizes the heart and soul of Patek; simple and understated elegance. Thanks for sharing this wonderful watch with its Breguet numeral. I personally think the font used on this is the best iteration. Wished they would make ...
But have you tried the Breguet 5177 which has Breguet numerals, Breguet hands and an enamel dial. It might only measure 38mm but the straight lugs will suit your wrist well! Thanks for your comments Skipper!
As unlike many enthusiasts who have a wide variety of watches, my tiny collection has the same theme - elegance and simplicity. Somehow I have convinced myself that these type of watches tend to suit my wrist better. I have tried to be adventurous but a N...
.....i have tried to entertainm the Naut/Aqua style, but it just doesn't suit me either. I think with PP, the heart and soul of their brand is timeless elegance housed through simplicity. I know that they also do some stunning comlications, but at the hea...
They have a nice vintage feel but somehow I am partial to simple Pateks with Breguet hands and numerals like the 3960,5022, 3820 even if they might seem small nowadays. Somehow they seem to exude a certain elegance than is difficult to describe. Nice to s...
I would like to think that we buy watches that suit our lifestyles and our wrist rather than investing our hard earned money on big is beautiful! Beauty though is in the eyes of the beholder so my take on Breguet hands and numerals might be less appealing...
Rarely does a watch look as right on my wrist and even the length and shape of the lugs compliment the watch and my wrist well. A keeper I think (which is saying a lot for me )
