Adding my growing insanity of getting more straps for my watches- got this gray calfskin to add a bit of a format evening wear touch to my 5270. I now have green, blue, yellow, brown and gray straps for this watch. In addition to calling the fire department, someone please call a doctor as I’ve lost my mind!!

I have a couple of calfskin alligator embossed straps,
other than myself I don't think anyone can tell without a close examination. Gator is nice, but you're right, costly. My TAG came on an alligator strap, I love it but my opt for something different when replacement time comes. Ostrich is tempting.

I actually don’t like it. Too many knots in the strap. Straight calfskin is my favorite but also depends on the watch . And yes you are right- I guarantee no one will tell that this is not real croc. Being 1/2 the cost means I can buy twice the straps.

Just wear it.
Couple days on the wrist with the oils and heat from the body will get it into shape. All my alligator straps were very stiff at first but a couple of days and they are fine.
