Patek 6007A
By: KonaJ : June 23rd, 2020-13:11
Just got a text from my AD, the 6007A has arrived! I expected a โnormalโ wait. Will pick it up Monday.
I am excited!
By: KonaJ : June 23rd, 2020-14:46
Not sure what โnormal waitโ means but I have waited months, maybe close to a year, for some other Patek watches. Thanks for correcting the typo...
Wow! That is quick!

Congratulations on being allocated a piece. I await my verdict
I will not exactly call a bone a surefire investment

but we should feel privileged if we are allowed the opportunity to own and enjoy a product that not only provides pleasure but will also appreciate in value over its life,. There are not many products in this category so to be an owner of one is indeed a ...
I would phrase it slightly differently...
By: mdg : June 23rd, 2020-21:51
...I believe we should feel privileged (and thankful) that we have reached a point in our lives, through either hard work, luck, inheritance, or a combination thereof, that we can afford to pay for such baubles, as beautiful as they may be. As far as appr...
I agree.

I am one who appreciates even the smallest things in life because I do not believe that having money alone means we are automatically afforded everything we want. I smile to myself that having money alone will not allow one to be allocated a limited editi...
Fair comment!
By: sham1 : June 23rd, 2020-22:49
'Deserving' can be quite a subjective term in this context, I know Patek in the UK where my AD is located are very fair when it comes to allocating the special pieces to its clientele and for example would not allocate a 5131 enamel world timer to the sam...
May I politely ask
By: sham1 : June 23rd, 2020-17:58
which country your AD is based at? Mine is in the UK and I await the good or bad news.
Thanks!
By: sham1 : June 23rd, 2020-21:52
We await with much anticipation and I hope we are one of the lucky few
Many thanks
By: DOCSF : June 24th, 2020-11:32
Good luck tomorrow and I'm sure you will follow very soon.
Unfortunately I was not allocated one! :-(
By: sham1 : June 25th, 2020-07:19
Most disappointing as it is the first time an application of mine has been rejected. It is ok, I have been blessed with other allocations.
Sorry to hear that
By: DOCSF : June 25th, 2020-11:10
I think I was very lucky to get an allocation. I know there are a lot of disappointed collectors/enthusiasts who didn't get an allocation.
Ha! Ha!
By: sham1 : June 25th, 2020-08:08
Thanks for the warm welcome Gordon! I think I will focus on independents from now onwards
You have good taste!

The 5520P is a superb watch with a terribly useful complication. No one really needs a minute repeater but an alarm is always useful
Congrats on 5520P, such an awesome watch
By: DOCSF : June 26th, 2020-04:40
When I spoke to them in March they said they didn't want the same client to get all the watches and wanted to share the allocations fairly.
Yes I can understand that...

I think I will act very disappointed and advise that I think a 5167, 5164 and Sub will make me feel better
That sounds good!
By: DOCSF : June 26th, 2020-05:47
You can also ask for a 5168, a Daytona and a blue Sky Dweller.
Congrats again on 5520P

Do you know how many coming to the UK this year? I have a friend who is struggling to get an allocation. He has some special pieces such as 5970R, 5970P, 5070P, 5070P-013 etc.
Ah ok, thank you.

The Brits will hopefully follow soon
