hmmm probably around 15. i saved all my baby-sitting money (babysat the two boys down the block) to purchase a Tag Heuer 2000. Rarely went out to parties with my friends, just saved the money in a blue Fossil (watch again!!) tin. From there, I just went up the ladder.... Tag...Breitling....Cartier...JLC...Patek. The Patek overhaul service could have easily bought me a new Breitling but just seeing the Patek on my wrist brings me such joy. I am considering a 3940 but not for awhile. I also tried on a 3970 and was absolutely enamored (do wish it had a PR). Such an incredible watch!
But before I realized I had the obsession, I always loved watches. A Flik-Flak (first watch), a few Swiss Army watches, Casio swimmer (big swimmienr back in the day), Fossil Blue I bought on a flight back from Germany at 13, Fossil Titanium Chronograph...then the Tag....
I just realised it now
when my savings account is so low there's no way it can satisfy my lust for a new moonphase chronograph. I'll just have to recycle my inventory, or plain go cold turkey. Ugh-h-h-h.
when I was buying watches that cost more than my car
of course in the beginning my car was only 800 dollars so that made it pretty easy LOL
