When I began noticing ads for watches in magazines and wanting them. When I noticed school friends wearing nice watches. When I realized that I was going to work my a$$ off to earn the money to buy the nicest watch within reason that I could afford. When I traveled by bus just before Christmas to the watch store in the nearest city with a huge wad of cash burning a hole in my pocket. When the salesman told me the watch I wanted in the window cost a lot of money. When I took it home and unwrapped it and unpacked it on the bed and put it on. That Tissot PR516 with the "Gruyere" steel bracelet lasted 10 years until it made it's bid for freedom from my wrist whilst biking, only to lose its life under the wheels of an 18-wheeler truck...And that gave me a chance to move on to other and better watches.

Actually, it probably hit me after I bought my 3rd Patek and kept moving up the limit - I realized I could be driving a turbo porsche for what I had invested in my collection. But then the car would just depreciate over time, and so I keep on buying. Love...
