Patek Philippe Grand Exhibition NYC 2017 Part 3: Patek Philippe Museum

Patek Philippe tourbillons.






Simple watches.  Notice the Calatrava on the left is similar to today's Calatravas.  And the one on the upper right has the sector dial upon which the 5296 drew inspiration from.  The Gondolo models have served as inspiration for modern models as well.  The one in the middle has been used in the 10-day power reserve Gondolo 5100.  The one on the right has been almost exactly reproduced as a modern watch as well. 


Awesome big Patek Philippe watches with keen military design influence.  Elegance and purpose from a long time ago. 




WorldTime collectors would week at this beautiful sight of some of the best WorldTime pieces Patek Philippe has ever produced.  The pieces are all exquisite.  Especially the two enamel pieces, both were likely made for the North American market.  The clock seems to have a dial featuring the country of Mexico. 



Are you a chronograph lover? 


The two photos above were specifically for chronograph lovers. 

Some exquisite pocket watches.  This one has a perpetual calendar, moonphase, split second chronograph, and a repeater.  It should also have a sonnerie mechanism. 




An extraordinary timepiece, probably for a nobleman. 






It's not a Frank Muller, it's a Patek Philippe Gondolo! 



Many of these timepieces belonged to former nobility or royalty.  Here are some with beautiful coats of arms, effigies, jewels, enamels, or portraits.

The watch even has a sunrise and sunset indicator!  All mechanical! 

Awards won. 

Look at the piece with the sapphire discs and bridges.  That's a cool way to give a skeletonized watch! 



These are automaton watches.  The Moses strikes the wall with his staff and it flips open with a rotating waterfall!  Tightrope walker walks the rope while below they play harp.  All mechanical.  All incredible! 








The hands expand on this watch so it reaches the outer circumference of this oval shaped case.  Clever! 



That butterfly box is incredible.  A treasure in itself.  But it also has a mechanical function that's just pure icing on the cake. 


Jeweled pistols.  I don't think this is the one with the mechanical bird.  These aren't wide enough.  One or both may be a perfume canister. 


















A treasure trove of top shelf, top grade historical watches has been brought over by the Patek Philippe Museum.  An incredible collection.  But you should go to Geneva to see the entire thing.  They've even got a Patek Philippe Reverso, that's a piece of Art Deco beauty not to be missed.
