so I wouldn't be able to advise adequately.
However, given the costly price of a strap, I wouldn't "experiment" without the proper suggestion of an AD.
I suppose it might be "do-able", but having the clasp properly jointed to the strap might be tricky. (Width of strap must match width of strap.)
Maybe other more experienced members could advise better.

What happens if you try to fit a calatrava style deployant on a strap made for a buckle?
Im sorry for the noob question. Does it not fit at all? Or does it fit but feel uncomfortable or looks bad? Or is it fine? Thank you. If it matters I have a 5119 with 20/16mm strap and I would like to replace the buckle with a deployant.

It can fit better or it can fit worse. I am always ordering a made-to-measure strap and measured for folding clasp. And I do not have buckles in my Pateks. When the strap is correctly measured, the watch feels fantastic. Best, Kari

Even for a watch that comes with deployant clasp, it may or may not fit your wrist properly. And that depends entirely on your wrist size. Let's not forget that the folding clasp fits wrist in "discrete" steps. By this, I mean it could fit wrist in increm...

You can certainly mount a tang or deployant on a strap of a given width. But the strap with the deployant will fit a little larger on the wrist than the one with the tang. Patek is one of the only manufacturers I know that makes separate strap sizes for u...

...specific Patek strap lengths for deployants vs tangs...the total length added across both strap sides is the same...the balance of how much is on the short vs long side is the only thing that varies...that said, it is a subtle not a major difference......
