my preference Nico:
it's a no brainer between the 5970 and 5070. The latter has a 'flawed' dial design where having the sub dials cut across 2,4,8 & 10. I can't accept this in any watch, just me.
It's a tough fight for me between the Patek and VC, I will still take the 5970 as I like shorter and traditional styled lugs.
Now between the G and P? Definitely the WG. I often prefer darker face dial but in this case, the G dial is just superb, classic and elegant in every ways. The P looks too cluttered in my opinion and the 'lumi' hand just look like a misplaced item on the otherwise perfect dial.

Saw it in the flesh at AD, and I was wearing my VC. The dial material and the layout were to me not as beautiful to me as a 5970 Joe

IMO, patek perpetual calendars are a perfect blend of style, sophistication, and elegance. They got it right and continue to use the same ingredients. The VC on the other hand has a more playful attitude, with the malte lugs, and grain finished dial. Both...

The only question is to know if the imperefections are singing to you, or not. As for the 5970 and the 47212, that is the same. They zre not perfect, but they have some indisputable charm. After, tastes and colors, well, you know the story... Best, Quan. ...
