Patek Philippe

My Point Being

I ask this as a general question? Not just related to Stern and Patek, but for all high end watches. It seems the care that is put into the initial build is is far greater than the attention to perfection in the repair and maintaince department.

I wonder if this is a common problem experienced by others, or just some poor luck on my part.

I also question if the repair departments located in the U.S. provide the same attention to detail as those who build our wonderful watches in Switzerland.

So, the point of the thread was to engage others to share their experiences and thoughts on the matter. Not to praise Rolex, Timex or any other brand.

My point in mentioning my old GMT and various other watches I have owned for decades and never serviced is that they seem to run fine without intervention. I also have a number of old railroad watches 992's that have probably never been in for service and are close to one hundred years old.

Maybe I breached some unwritten rule by posting this thread on the Patek forum, however it is a Patek that I now need to pay attention to and feedback regarding others experience at Stern would be helpful.
