My lovely 5146R one year later....

Dear all I got this PP 5146R brand new then for Christmas last year. It was my 2nd haute horology piece after my VC Patrimony in Sep 2012. Being the 2nd "elder" of my collection, it will always be very special for me. It is also my first and only PP now (I won't get another PP in near future as I like to diversify my collection of brands as a start except maybe a Nautilus as I quite like it). I chose the rg version as I like the cream lacquered dial with the warmth of rg. The lacquered dial is really very beautiful and I can see Patek's high level of craftsmanship here. The curves of the case is also very fluidly designed. I have other haute horology brands including a Breguet Marine, Lange Datograph and Montblanc Villeret, all of which have very finely crafted cases and dials too (and of course movements for the Villeret and Dato esp and also the VC 4400 AS movement). But Patek's curves on the case of my 5146R is really very special and comfortable to wear and feel (borderline caress in a non kinky way haha). 1 year later... the 5156 with some hairline scratches on the side of the case (the sapphire crystal being slightly taller than the case actually prevents the bezel from being scratched by cuffs) and some dirt which I need to clean off when I have the time. But also lots of bonding with me as it has been through good times and bad times with me in 2013. I feel I like this watch even more than when I first bought it and that is despite competition for my attention from other watches I have gotten in 2013. I am slowing down my watch acquisition in 2014... realized I need to spend some more time with each of those I bought in 2012 and 2013. A bit curious about the 5296 Calatrava with sector dial and SS Aquanaut. But knowing PP, very expensive. A non PP that has taken my fancy is the ALS 1815 up / down. Let's see what happens in terms of purchase and what I can afford when.
