Patek Philippe

My First Watch in 2011

 

Thanks to the many posts on 5217-1A, I decided to acquire my first Patek from my local AD.

It is fresh from the box and wraps.  Was so excited that I took the wrist shot, forgeting that the date and time setting is not done yet. 

It fits my (small) wrist very well, with comfortable bracelet to match.

so much response from all. Thanks. Will wear it and give my view about it in due course and try to provide a couple of decent shots of the movement. The transparent caseback is one of the reasons I'm attracted to the watch. Cheers!

Great to be able to appreciate the movement with the see through case back. Happy to report that there is no issue with the power reserve despite its mini rotor. In all, like many 5712 owners have stated, it's a great watch that I can wear for any occasio...  

To me it is a perfect villain's watch ...

Do not get me wrong: I like all Nautilus watches very, very much ! But the way that they are presented in the PP boutiques and also at some ADs ( with this "dark" light on the watches, that cover the watch with a very tempting shade ) makes them look a bi...

I didn't encounter any issue with its power reserve despite the mini (gold) rotor. I've read some comments/ concerns that the mini rotor didn't seem to work well. Wore it for 8 hours today. The power reserve moved from 12 to just above 36 hours. That's go... 

I am surprised.....

raised by owners of the 5712 on the mini-rotors. However, it seemed that after sending for repairs, the issue with the power reserve was satisfactorily resolved.

Mine is generating power just fine...fingers crossed!
