Manual vs. automatic
Is it generally accepted that for similarly regulated watches that manual wind versions are generally less accurate than automatics? It makes intuitive sense that the mainspring would unwind with decreasing torque vs. an automatic that (when worn) would keep a relatively fixed level of wind. Is there any intuition for the typical effect of this? My personal tolerance level for my watches is a few seconds a day but anything at or above five seconds is a bit undesirable even if understandable.
