Looks good, but...
Honestly, I was originally excited by the idea of an annual calendar in a Nautilus case. Today, I'm somewhat taken aback. The annual calendar is a useful mechanism that is designed for daily wear.
The Nautilus to me strikes me as a very casual watch that one would wear in the summer-time or on the weekend. Not necessarily for consistent every-day wear. I'm not sure that I would want a Nautilus Annual Calendar. However, say I lived in a very humid part of the world, where the temperature is always high and humid, and I used a Nautilus as my every-day watch. Then, I think it would make sense to have an annual calendar Nautilus; but again, on a bracelet.
That being said, the watch is very well executed. I imagine that it would be supplied with the rubber strap that the other gold Nautilus watches are also supplied with. However, I still think that an annual calendar mechanism is not necessary and I would personally prefer a version on a bracelet.
You know what would look very good in a Nautilus case? The strange but avantgarde looking Patek 6000 would look great in a Nautilus case. I know the inside of the Nautilus dial isn't round (the date design of the 6000 dial is rounded) but I'm sure it could be adapted. That concept of incorporating something strange and unique (like the 6000 is strange and unique) in a Nautilus case is very appropriate for the Nautilus.

The 5140 is also my favorite perpetual. And as much as I welcome a Platinum edition, I'm not sure about the blue face. I know some people who love blue-face watches but it's not for me. That said, if that was the only 5140 available, it'd still be my favo...

I was on pins and needles waiting for the 5140P, as the 5140 is at the top of my "get" list and I thought platinum would be the correct metal to get it in. Granted that blue-dialed Pateks typically need to be seen in person to be fully appreciated, I was ...

Dear Steve and other Patek lovers, I was there at Basel and spent precious time looking at the 5140 P, it looks stunning and the blue dial and strap fit very well with it. Of course, they were unable to show me the piece due to large media demand. But the...

It is a very subjective matter, and, as always, everyone has his favourite. The white dial is very elegant, sober, understated, as you said, the blue adds something very special, different to put in words, but something like " dynamism " or " youth " on a...

Dje, which watch do you like? The 5146G Slate dial or the new 5205G? Which one would you choose and why? The 5205G is indeed a very beautiful watch, and I imagine it will become one of the most popular watches in the Patek Philippe lineup. I especially li...

Hi, It's hard to answer your question. I'm still very much appealed by the 5146G slate dial to be honest. I prefer the triple window but I like the 5146 design a lot, the hands, the fact that they are luminous (something I really need for an everyday watc...

The colours (black and grey), size and layout are more modern than any other Annual Calendar. I also like the fact that the day, date and month windows (and fonts) are bigger than the 5396. Black or grey? Difficult to decide in this case. Goh
the 5205G is a WINNER!!!

WOW I didnt realize that the case is so nice it looks absolutely superb. I love the dial with the windows. One thing I have doubts about is the frame around the central window but - perhaps its just me - I cant wait to see this watch IRL. Thank you Dje fo...

Not my cup of tea

The original Nautilus is a great design, and imho does not work as an annual cal. Too narrow between the "eyes" is the feeling I get, and the moonphase completely malplace on this dial. Love the other new models but this one is unattractive imo.
Although...

March 18th was the start date of Basel this year, but Basel didn't start on Saturday... Patek Philippe was founded in 1851. In the year of 1851, March 18th is not a Saturday, it is a Tuesday. It was also a Saturday, March 18th in 2006. I need to get my Co...
