It spoke to me ...
because I have always been interested in Art Deco objets d'art and this watch had that flavour & appeal. The step up case and formed movement together with the way it sits on my wrist gave me no hesitation when my AD presented it to me soon after Basel 08. I also like the look of the salmon like dial with the Breguet numerials, giving it a classic and timeless feel.My AD had previously offer me the 5101P(regretfully had to decline),so when I saw the 5124G, which can pass off as the little brother but actually wears better for me, it was a no brainer. No cons, except some may find the crown a trifle small but one easily adapts.
As you mention this piece is quite unique amongst the simple manual wind Pateks and doesn't seem to be as popular as the Calatravas.I would suggest trying one on the wrist if at all possible.
Cheers

for your insights. Much appreciated. BTW, I spoke with my AD yesterday about this model. She told me that the 5124J has already been discontinued and that the 5124G is expected to be retired next year! So, I may have to make the leap soon. The dilemma, ho...
Thanks

Hi FX, Thanks you for your pics. There are few watches that work in yellow gold for me (the 5170 being the best), but this one doesn't (again, for my own taste). I prefer your 5130! Cheers Dje
