It's not possible for most people to be able to tell if a case is polished or not using only photos...

Unless it's obviously polished. Most other information would just be a bad opinion. As most experts wouldn't give an expert judgment based off a photo.
Thus, and with respect to our Terms of Conduct where we avoid discussing seller references for specific sellers, all I can say is that you should buy something only if you really like it and you trust the seller. Remember, trust of the seller is paramount. If you can't trust the seller's information is accurate and trustworthy, then you can't trust the watch.
But to answer your question... In order to determine if a watch is polished or not, ideally have one that is a brand new one, and the used example in your hand. Then look at corners or anything with an "edge" and see if the edges have been rounded off on the used example and compare it to the known to be new example. Of course, this is not always possible as we don't always have a new example as a reference. So unless you're very familiar with this model, it's difficult to tell. If you have professional work as a car paint detailer (detailers have to polish cars) you have a more developed opinion, and if you have professional work as a jewelry/watch polisher you have a very informed opinion where you have other techniques at your disposal. But the method I mentioned is the most reliable way for those who live no professional experience.
