I think an AD should tell it however...
It would make sense to tell it as it also their role to inform customers. Also, this gives the opportunity to have a customer revisiting and we all know how that can end 😉. And last but not least, suppose the AD is also earning money if repairs are needed...

Could it be more a result of Patek's suspect WR? Modern rubber gaskets have a service life of approximately 25+ years so the rubber wouldn't have degraded yet, requiring a service. Something like a modern Rolex won't have WR issues if they haven't been op...
They need to tell you this when you buy the watch imho .
Also with modern lubrication and gaskets a service every 8 to 10 years would be normal i guess . When you buy a high end watch i guess the AD needs to inform you when its time to service your watch (some brands do it for free then )
I agree that AD's should cover topics like general maintenance ....
... but it's 100% the owners responsibility to put energy into understanding what they've purchased and how to take care of it.

but is sadly left out of most discussions. Watch salespeople are usually working on commission and incentivized to close the sale quickly. If talking about regular service intervals and maintenance, then the question about repair costs is often brought up...
