If it were available with the same dial...
and hands of the 'R' version I would buy a 'J' version in a second...but it's not. I think yellow gold really adds to the classic nature of this watch.
I tried one on this past summer in Manhattan and it fit my 7.25" wrist perfectly. It is a very elegant watch.
My problem is not to much the pulsation scale that I will never use, it's more with the plain hands and the 'VI' that (to my OCD sensibilities) should have been rotated 180 degrees.

Had always thought this version the least desirable, until only *very* recently handling one, and, just like you, realizing A. It is a brilliant watch B. My online-photo-based preferences are bunk.
