I will admit...
...that it took some time for me to warm up to this watch, whereas I fell for certain competitors in the luxe toolwatch category (e.g. AP RO) right away. I do enjoy the 5711/1A for its unique look and subtle power. It has a wonderful, clean presence that has really grown on me. I can feel your passion for it pouring off the page, as I read your loving ode to what IMO is one of the lasting designs in the horological world.

flirted with the 5712 idea (Nicolas was kind enough to let me "play" with it)..... However, I prefer the 5711 for its simple sporty elegance..... (the chrono nautilus would be an option but it has quite a price tag.... one subdial chronos though are mesme...

The Nautilus is without a doubt a very impressive and well made watch but the term tool watch takes it perhaps a bit too far. That is like taking your Rolls to the local Home Depot to get some lumber and nails... Of course it is possible.... Kind of remin...

love the watch. still kept in right proportions unlike the other Genta creation the APRO, which has mothed into a monster size. the 5711 is a really versatile watch and suit most occasions...under the sleeves, in tees, business suit etc etc.

5960 combines everything.... granted, it is a bit thick, but it may also be worn as a dress watch.... (not as much as 5070 or 5170) Personally I prefer manual watches so I would want it to be manual..... Cheers
