I'm probably in the black dial camp here (leaving aside the double signature which comes at a really high premium, as I don't find it relevant without a personal association with Gubelin).

A darker dial IMO gives more elegance and a stronger presence to this reference. But a beautiful piece in either declination, certainly worth considering at a reasonable price! ;-) Cheers.

Even though compared to the 5196p I know the Patek Travel Time 5134p is not a commonly favored model (although we’ve had a couple of beautiful postings recently), I was still curious to see what you all thought of the following matchup of the white/silver...

I owned and loved it in the past, but had to let it go given limited wear time. Although the strength and elegance of the black dial could sway one the other way. Each has its beauty and merits.

Specifically, your highlight of the dial balance (due to the wording along the x-axis and subdials along y) is a feature I didn’t consciously account for. Although, I do find the unilateral distribution of writing endearing in a way, as well as seeing the...

my thoughts are these; I like the overall presence of the black dial and contrast with the platinum case. However, I dislike that the hands look harder to read at a glance. I’ve not seen the black dial myself in the flesh, but the two tone of the standard... 

The 5107P is such a great stealth watch and I much prefer it over either 5134P

I would not spend a dime to add a - in my eyes at least - less attractive piece than what you have got already.
