Patek Philippe

I love this reference

I owned a 5134g.  It was a newer version than the one in your photo, which has the arabic numerals at the 3-6-9.  I traded it for a 5110p,  which I love, but I often regret not having the 5134 and frequently consider getting another if the right one comes along.

Honestly, I think this reference is VERY under-appreciated, mostly because: 1) photos somehow do not do it justice; and 2) the 215 movement has its critiques because it is an older, manual wind movement which is a bit small for this case (compared to, for example, the 240 which fills the 37mm case of the 5110 perfectly.

In person, however, the 5134 is a real beauty.  The case is quite similar to the 5110, but it wears larger because of the buttons on the left side of the case which adjust the skeleton/2nd time zone hand. Those buttons, by the way, give the watch a very cool and unique look.  It is one of those watches that can be dressed up or down.

Interestingly, the t complication used in the aquanaut travel time (5164) is nearly identical in set up, and that is a hugely popular and loved piece.

For what it's worth, I think the 5134 will be more appreciated over time.  If you look at the last generation of travel time watches made by Patek in the 60's  (same left hand button format), they have become very desirable.  I also think that because the 5134 was not a huge seller, it will have a bit more rarity than other models down the track, just like its brethren from 1960s.  Also, while the 215 movement has its critics, it is a tie tested, bullet proof movement which winds like butter and it joy.

Good luck with your hunt.
