I love the hobnail bezel myself, but as FabR states below...
...those two references are manual-wind. The 3919 is considered fairly small these days unless he has a small-ish wrist. They are both more on the formal side so maybe not best for a daily wearer but that's personal. I know a guy who wears his ref. 5120 to the gym : )

If it were me, I would definitely buy from an authorized dealer. There are many advantages as mentioned above.

UPDATE: The Final Two!
With tremendous help from this group, in particular one member who has kindly tolerated my many questions and has helped in my search, I am down to the final two.
I'm sincerely glad we were able to help Madam, and as I understand it, the search is now down to two watches (both Calatravas 5119R). I just eliminated the links to secondary dealers which we don't allow here, and replaced it with the basic information.
Of course, the market values, which we also refrain from discussing, are different according to the age of the model. Whichever your final decision, I wish you again the best of luck! ;-)
