I have the 5110P. I am a new owner. I have owned the watch for a few months.

It is actually very legible. With a slight turn of the wrist you get light to reflect off the platinum hands and it’s easily readable. In the meantime you take in the beautiful blue Guilloche background. It’s a piece of artwork. Telling the time is almost secondary quite honestly.

I tried to capture what I am speaking about in the next two pictures. The first picture the hands are darker because of no reflected light. The second picture, with a subtle movement of the wrist, the hands reflect light and watch becomes very legible. I have owned the yellow gold version of this watch and it is more legible overall but in my opinion aesthetically the platinum version is very legible and more beautiful. The other reason I like the platinum version is it has a very nice feel on the wrist because it is a little heavier.
I would firstly try a 5110P if you can procure one. If you don’t like it it would be an easy sell.
Best of luck. Please keep us updated.
Best of luck.

5110P vs 5110G

For those of you who have seen both in the metal, which do you prefer and why? I understand that the P is the crowd favorite, in part because of the blue guilloche dial center, which the G lacks. I am wondering whether that blue dial makes it easier or ha...

I went with the G for legibility. To your point, always found the P a little harder in certain light. That said, any 5110 is amazing and could just as easily argue for the P over the G.

Thanks - I suspected that from photos.

I find both easy to read...

You buy one or the other because you fall in love. I don't see any falling in love here. Might be best to move on. The yellow gold and rose gold models are even more easily read (and just as beautiful).

Falling in love?

There’s a bit of a chicken-and-egg conundrum here. These 5110s are rare and not in current production, and I don’t live in a city with lots of watch enthusiasts. So I have no way to see one of these in the metal unless I order one from a secondary market ...

I haven’t been since 1999

… but I miss it, and you will know far in advance of my return!

I do hope so!

Hehehe... The platinum, because, as far as I know, and IF my memory serves me well, the G is rhodium plated.

Besides that, you cannot go wrong with any of these two... ...

Thanks Nico …

… not trying to start a food fight here among champions of these two metals! 😂

Hmm…

does Lange use rhodium plating on its current production WG models? Asking for a friend. 😂

Love you photo composition Nico. Superb!

Both are great . . .

Both the G and the P are great watches, but I love the look of the P in particular. And both are pretty easy to read . . . ...

Thank you!

the P

I had the G few years ago, it was a beautiful watch & it's a strap monster (which is a big plus point for me). Then I sold it to fund other pieces, which wouldn't have happened if it was the P. And always wanted the P ever since, because of the blue guill...
