I have that same issue on some gold vintage watches when I haven’t worn them in a long time
It usually gets less from regular wear. To me, it’s just part of the charm. I only see it as character and patina. Nothing negative. Of course you may feel differently about it but I think it’s nothing unusual or wrong.
You could try to wear it for an extended period and see if it changes. Personally I would never polish a watch in such pristine condition. It will blur the lines of the case over several polishes.

+1. I have an even more serious oxidation of my 5990/1R. Same advice from PP service center that only polishing can eliminate the oxidation.
Eventually I decided to wear it instead of polishing it. After one week or so, the discolouration disappeared (at least to my naked eyes)
Solid advice Hendry .honestly its nothing to worry or be upset about once I know its just oxidation and a polish from Patek can deal with it when it is ever required.
Patina as you say has a charm...so to wear more, and to let the patina just grow over the years. Tq once again

I'll do exactly thst....use silica gel packs. I do believe the answer is oxidation looking at how consistent everyone's response is. I'm glad...wS having Patek anxiety...haha

To echo what others have suggested, I def would not polish it. Perhaps a little more wrist time is the trick here. Enjoy!

Once again I feel blessed we have a wonderful community here, who share knowledge and guidance. Of course being a new watch nerd, I felt anxious. Then knowledge from friends save the day. Rishikesan
use selvyt -jc gold jewellery cloth which in impregnated with a magical cleaner
with a final finish with either a selvyt sr or selvyt pr cloth. the tarnish outline looks to follow the line of the watch glass seal-has the glass been changed or resealed.
So I just used micro fibre cloth to give it a light rub. All gone!
I think it wasn't just the case edge, some very mild patches on the side of the case too...everything went away with some pressure against the cloth. Rishikesan
