If you had one one Chrono24 at $50k then heard the news, wouldn't you TRY to get $80k? Who knows what they actually sell for but there isn't much (if any) downside to the seller.

When ordinary watches become unreasonably priced due to what I perceive as market insanity, it makes be dislike the watch a bit...as if the object takes on the baggage associated with the crazy price. It's still just an object, but I can't help but feel t... 

I know it's not the watch's fault, but I can't help feeling the same.

Makes me think that i should have kept the 3 nautiluses that I used to own 😜😜

Market demand dictates the prices.

And another thing when it's made more desirable through artificial manipulations (lack of supply, influencers, celebrity ambassadors, etc.).

For the most part those people are not interested in luxury items.

However, the piece has not been popular and has been produced in masses (several thousand pieces). The grey market price will be maybe 50% or less in 2-3 years. Nautilus is a bad investment at todays prices. Simple watch. Overhyped. But prices have been f... 

All these watches (SS PP or SS RO) are overpriced even at retail (MSRP).

When 5726/1A-001 and 5726/1A-010 were discontinued last year the prices sky rocketed immediately and some grey dealers were asking well over £ 100 000 for a discontinued 5726/1A. However now the asking price for a discontinued 5726/1A is between £ 60 000 ... 

If I recall, they were asking $25k. I’m with the others...with this kind of insanity, I just find it very silly. It’s just trend chasing. I find it crazy how many times I’ve recently heard people talking about the 5711 being their ‘grail’ or ‘the ultimate... 

But I don’t $50k to $80k like them. I’m guilty of selling mine . It didn’t fit my wrist so well. But it funded my 3970J which for me personally was more of a grail. That fits me great. I don’t down anyone who buys at any price. Your money, you be you. I t... 

He/she appreciates and those who buy a steel Daytona and put them in a safe because it would likely be worth a lot more in a while. I know a few of those guys and they know little or nothing about watches.

Holding a watch in the safe will not beat the stock market in the long run. I would rather wear a nice watch and enjoy it. Then put my money in the market and take the profits and buy more watches. It has worked since 2000 for me.

Just pointing out that most of those people who are buying some of these sought after watches at retail or close are hoping to sell them for a profit.

Watch flippers tend to distort the market.
