Hello Patek Punters, I am writing this article as we await a new replacement to the bread and butter Patek 5296 Calatrava. Patek ditched the 5296 in 2019 BaselWorld....... but what replaces it? The 5196 remains the entry position, manual wind with no disp...  

... and has been for many years. So why don't I have one? Well, that's a long story ... ;-)

But I just cannot imagine 37mm on a 6ft 300 lbs frame being perfect and 38mm too large.. you must have a very small wrist? Do you know the size of your wrist? Really curious. I am same height weight 187lbs (85kg) I find 39-40mm dress watches fit well and ... 

I love your enthusiasm for Patek. Keep the great posts coming. I like the 5127 a lot. It would make a great complement to my 5026 I think. ...  

One thing though: i am pretty confident in saying that they are not going to replace the 5296. The 5227 is the replacement and i think this piece is much better as you describe it. Consider that they are willing to do amazing artworks on the case back fre... 

In the USA a punter is a position on an American football team. He is also called a kicker. I don’t know what a “Patek Punter” is. Would love to know.

Would love to have this reference on a taupe Hèrmes strap. But the step from one to two Pateks feels daunting. What year did they stop the rhodium plating?

Personally, the 5127 is my favourite Calatrava and I love the way that the shoulders come up to protect the screw-in crown. But in Rose Gold for me.
