I can tell
that unlike me you are an exponent of all things relating to the opera, I salute you Mike! Current Breguet watches excel with their guilloche and enamel dials and I only wish their movements were less industrial and the lugs were not so straight making them less wearable than other watches with similar diameters. Ok, I think I might be able to live with their movements but a curved lug would definitely be popular even if it might be contrary to Breguet's traditions. Patek is Patek. I commend the reliability and accuracy of the watches (yes it is hand finished so sometimes things do go wrong but in general only Rolex and possibly Grand Seiko can argue that they are more reliable) but to be honest what I did not expect when buying a Patek was the never ending good customer service which makes the ownership of the watch even more pleasurable. And by the way, my first watch when I was 14 was actually a Timex!!

I'm generally biased towards moving forward.
Have you had an opportunity to put a 5010 on your wrist recently? If not I think you need to do that as it should tell you whether that emotional connection is still there and whether or not it's time to move on. My bias towards moving forward does not me...
