I bought my 5120
some seven years ago. This watch is not for daily wear but still I wore it quite a lot in the beginning. For sure it is not a watch to the construction site but I have not had any problems with the Hobnail bezel. I guess a watch with polished bezel would have already pretty many scratches.
I have also learned that Patek can repair their watches really well so my guess is that in case your Hobnail would get damaged, the people in Patek can do some small miracles.
If you like the Hobnail bezel, just go for it! Today it might not be the most fashionable way of decorating a watch but for sure it is a very classic Patek thing.

Ps. have a look at the selection of Patek's cuff links with Hobnail decoration. They fit really well with the watch.
