I am torn between them
Hi Jerome,
I am glad that you shared my thoughts. I loved your pictures.
I am torn between complicated watches and simple ones. When I first started out, I preferred complicated watches. I adored the 5040 and 5004. Then I moved to 5102, 5059 and 5159. Then I moved to 5970 and last to 5098. Do note that I do not own any of these watches.
I personally have a simple 5196 watch.
However, I must be honest with myself and accept that simple watches are good for many reasons.
(1) They look beautiful.
(2) It is easier to afford them and try multiple watches.
(3) They are easy to maintain.
(4) You can wear them in daily life and on any occasion.
However, collectors do prefer complicated watches.

And such a wonderful post, my friend! I, for one, deeply think that simple pieces can co exist with more complicated ones... It is not the same pleasure, and you can really reach the perfection with a " simple " watch, as a Calatrava, VC, JLC, DUFOUR, KV ...
